Mac Formatted

Mac Formatted means a storage device is set up to work with macOS. This uses file systems like HFS+ or APFS. HFS+ was used before APFS came with macOS High Sierra. APFS has better security, uses space more efficiently, and works faster.

When you format a drive for a Mac, it will erase all the data on it and prepare it to work well with macOS. Make sure to back up your data first, as formatting will delete everything. Mac-formatted drives don’t work with Windows without extra software or drivers.
